BYRON BERRY covers e-business software and IT solution providers at
National Bank financial. He brings more than 10 years of active
technology and investment experience to NBF. Prior to NBF, he was
President of Thinksmith Corp., a successful software company he co-
founded in 1999. From 1995 to 2000, he was Canada’s leading Digital
Media Infrastructure research analyst, working at Yorkton Securities.
From 1993 to 1995 he worked at Scotia Capital, where he worked on
technology, telecommunications, and utilities among other sectors. Prior
to equity research, he oversaw the $35 billion Asian Development Bank
loan portfolio on behalf of Canada while at the Department of Finance in
Ottawa, and had management responsibility for the 1993 defense budget.
He also worked on Parliament Hill as a national defense intern, advising
Parliament on defense and public policy issues. He is a Chartered
Financial Analyst and holds an MA (1991, Carleton) and BA (1988, UBC),
both in Political Science and International Relations.
BRYCE ROWE follows community and super-community banks as part of Legg
Mason’s Financial Services research team. Prior to joining Legg Mason,
Mr. Rowe worked in McDonald Investments’ research department in a
similar capacity and was based in Atlanta with Trident Securities, which
is a division of McDonald Investments that specializes in providing
professional services to smaller banks and thrifts. Prior to McDonald
Investments, Mr. Rowe helped form a community bank-focused division
within Anderson & Strudwick of Richmond, Virginia. At A&S, Mr. Rowe
provided research coverage on community banks and thrifts, many of which
were headquartered in the mid-Atlantic region. Mr. Rowe graduated from
the University of Virginia in 1998 with a BA in economics. He was
awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in September 2003.
BRYAN SPILLANE is a Vice President and Equity Research Analyst at
Banc of America Securities LLC, where he covers the beverage
industry. Prior to joining Banc of America Securities, he worked
as an Analyst at UBS Warburg, where he covered the food and
beverage industries. He began his career in the beverage industry
working for Cadbury Schweppes from 1989 to 1996 and later at
Triarc Beverage Group. He earned an MBA in Finance from the
University of Connecticut in 1997 and a BS in Economics from
Southern Connecticut State University in 1988.
BRYAN MAHER is a Director and Senior Equity Analyst with Credit Lyonnais
Securities (USA), Inc. He is currently responsible for providing equity
research on 20 US companies in the lodging and gaming industries. Prior
to joining Credit Lyonnais in 1999, Mr. Maher was at Deutsche Banc Alex.
Brown (and its predecessor companies BT Securities and BT Alex. Brown)
and Dean Witter Reynolds. Mr. Maher was also an analyst at the Trump Taj
Mahal in Atlantic City, New Jersey, from 1990 to 1991. Mr. Maher
received a BS in Finance from Clemson University and has an MBA in
Strategic Management from Georgia State University. He has made numerous
appearances on the various financial news networks and has been widely
quoted in media publications on topics related to the US lodging, gaming
and leisure industries. William Schmitt is an Analyst at CIBC World
Markets, covering the hotels/lodging/casinos industry, among other
sectors. He was previously a gaming and lodging analyst at Wasserstein
Perella and Gerard Klauer Mattison. Mr. Schmitt received a BA from
hobart College and an MBA in Finance from Fordman University.
BRYAN C. ELLIOTT, CFA, is a Senior Vice President, Equity Reseach at
Raymond James & Associates. He joined the Raymond James equity research
department in August 2001 to follow small and mid-cap restaurants, with
a particular emphasis on the casual dining segment. He spent the bulk of
his almost 20-year analyst career with Robinson-Humphrey, where, in
addition to restaurant chains, he developed research expertise in food
distribution, food manufacturing, beverages and retail chains. He earned
his MBA degree from the Johnson School at Cornell University and a BA in
Economics from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He has been
named to the Wall Street Journal Best on the Street analyst team four
times in seven years of eligibility.
BRYAN C. ELLIOT, a Senior Vice President at Raymond James & Associates,
is an Analyst covering the restaurant sector. He was previously
associated with TFP Capital Management, The Robinson-Humphrey Co. and
Butcher & Singer. Mr. Elliot is an AIMR member, a CFA charter-holder,
and received The Wall Street Journal’s ‘Best of the Street’ award three
times in six years of eligibility. He holds a BA in Economics from
Dickinson College and an MBA in Finance and Economics from Cornell
University.

to joining Credit Lyonnais in 1999, Mr. Maher was an Equity Analyst at
Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown, where he was the Associate Lodging & Leisure
Analyst since April 1996. Prior to joining Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown,
Mr. Maher worked at Dean Witter Reynolds from 1992 to 1996. Preceding
his work at Dean Witter, Mr. Maher was an Analyst at the Trump Taj Mahal
in Atlantic City, NJ, from January 1990 to October 1991. Complementing
Mr. Maher’s experience as an Equity Analyst on Wall Street are his nine
years of combined lodging and gaming operating experience. Mr. Maher
received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Clemson
University and his MBA in Strategic Management from Georgia State
University.
BRUCE JACOBS is a Vice President at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown covering
the medical device and hospital supply group. Mr. Jacobs is a CFA. He
received a BSE in Finance and Management from the Wharton School and
graduated Magna Cum Laude and received an MBA from Harvard Business
School. In his leisure he enjoys sports and traveling.
BRIAN WHITE, an Analyst at Kaufman Bros, LP, has covered the EMS and
electronics supply chain industries for eight years. Prior to joining
Kaufman Bros. in 2003, he covered the EMS and electronics supply chain
group at Merrill Lynch for four years. At Merrill Lynch, he was a member
of Institutional Investor magazine’s number one rated EMS team. Prior to
joining Merrill Lynch, he covered the EMS and embedded computing
industries at SG Cowen. He has contributed to several articles about the
EMS industry with various leading publications and has participated as a
speaker at various industry events over the years. He received his MBA
with honors from Vanderbilt University with a concentration in
Accounting and Finance with an international emphasis. He is a member of

BRIAN W. RUTTENBUR is a Director in the Research Department of SunTrust
Equitable Securities, where he manages the Privatization/
Corrections/Education/ Security Group. Previously, he was a Commissioned
Officer in the United States Air Force. Mr. Ruttenbur holds a Bachelor’s
degree from the University of Tennessee and a Master’s of Administrative
Science from the University of Montana.
