BYRON BERRY covers e-business software and IT solution providers at
National Bank financial. He brings more than 10 years of active
technology and investment experience to NBF. Prior to NBF, he was
President of Thinksmith Corp., a successful software company he co-
founded in 1999. From 1995 to 2000, he was Canada’s leading Digital
Media Infrastructure research analyst, working at Yorkton Securities.
From 1993 to 1995 he worked at Scotia Capital, where he worked on
technology, telecommunications, and utilities among other sectors. Prior
to equity research, he oversaw the $35 billion Asian Development Bank
loan portfolio on behalf of Canada while at the Department of Finance in
Ottawa, and had management responsibility for the 1993 defense budget.
He also worked on Parliament Hill as a national defense intern, advising
Parliament on defense and public policy issues. He is a Chartered
Financial Analyst and holds an MA (1991, Carleton) and BA (1988, UBC),
both in Political Science and International Relations.
