KEVIN T. TIMMONS, Senior Bank Analyst at C.L. King & Associates,
spent 13 years in the banking/thrift industry, working for The
Bank of New York Barclays Bank of New York, and Poughkeepsie
Savings Bank. He joined First Albany Corporation in 1992 as
Senior Bank Analyst, and moved to C.L. King & Associates in a
similar capacity in 2001. His banking career included hands-on
experience in commercial and industrial credit underwriting,
lending to middle market businesses, branch banking, mergers and
acquisitions and financial management. As an analyst, he has
focused primarily on banks and thrifts, but has also covered
consumer finance companies, mortgage bankers and REITs. He
received his MBA in finance from Fordham University and is a
Chartered Financial Analyst.
KEVIN SIMPSON joined Merrill Lynch in January 1993 as the Senior Oil
Services and Equipment Analyst and has been covering the industry for
over 20 years. Before joining Merrill, Mr. Simpson spent three years at
Schroders and previously led Drexel Burnham Lambert’s oil services
research team. He has been an Institutional Investor-ranked analyst 18
times. In 2000, Mr. Simpson was named one of the ‘Best on the Street’
analysts by the Wall Street Journal survey for earnings estimate
accuracy. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the
University of Pennsylvania and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Mr.
Simpson is also a member of the National Association of Petroleum
Investment Analysts (NAPIA).
Kevin Kirkeby is an Industry Analyst within Standard & Poor’s U.S. Equity
Research department, covering a broad array of industrial companies. His
coverage includes railroads and trucking companies, as well as industrial
equipment and aircraft lessors. He also authors the twice-yearly Commercial
Transportation survey. Prior to joining S&P, he was a financial communications
consultant with HF Global Consulting Group and Golin/Harris International.
During that time he advised corporate managements across a wide range of
industries, from manufacturing to food producers, on their investor relations
strategies. He was also involved in supporting M&A transactions, IPOs, and
corporate bankruptcies. He began his Wall Street career at Dillon, Read & Co. in
1992, subsequently joining Robert Fleming Securities to be a part of their
global equities research team. He received a BA degree in Economics from
Concordia College. He is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts
and is a CFA charterholder.
KEVIN J. DYCHES, CFA, is a First Vice President and Senior Business
Services Analyst for Prudential Securities, Inc. He joined Prudential in
1996 after working at George K. Baum & Company from 1988 to 1996. Mr.
Dyches also worked as a Portfolio Manager and Analyst at Waddell & Reed
from 1980 to 1988. He received a BS in Finance from Arizona State
University and an MBA from Washington University (St. Louis). Mr. Dyches
is a member of the Kansas City Financial Analysts Association.
KEVIN GRUNEICH is a Senior Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co.,
covering the publishing and information services industry. He has been
named to Institutional Investor’s All-America Research Team for the past
18 years, and has been named top analyst in his field eight of those
years. Mr. Gruneich was also named to the 2000 Wall Street Journal All-
Star Analysts Survey for earnings forecasting and stock picking.
Euromoney magazine has listed him among the top publishing analysts in
the world. Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Mr. Gruneich worked at CS
First Boston as a Publishing Analyst. He has also served as the
President of the Media and Entertainment Analysts Association of New
York and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He earned a BBA from The
University of Iowa and an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at the
University of Pennsylvania.
Kevin D. Vassily is a Senior Research Analyst covering semiconductors and
enabling technologies at Pacific Crest Securities. He joined Pacific Crest in
2007. He received honorable mention in Institutional Investor’s 2008 All-
American Research Team in the semi capital equipment category. Before joining
Pacific Crest, he covered the semiconductor and semiconductor capital equipment
industries for Susquehanna Financial Group. Prior to Susquehanna, he was a
research analyst at Thomas Weisel Partners and Lehman Brothers, covering
semiconductor equipment and analog and communications semiconductors,
respectively. Prior to his career as a financial analyst, he worked for Applied
Materials as a business development manager. He was ranked second in his sector
in The Wall Street Journal’s annual Best on the Street survey for 2004. Mr.
Vassily holds an MBA degree from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth
College, and a BA degree in English Literature and Philosophy from Denison
University.
Kevin B. Reynolds, Senior Vice President, Financial Services Research, has covered financial institutions since 2001 on the sell side. Prior to joining Wunderlich Securities, he spent 18 months at Janney Montgomery Scott, LLC, where was the Senior Publishing Research Analyst covering Southern regional and community banks for the Philadelphia-based firm. Before joining Janney in mid-2007, Mr. Reynolds covered Southern banks for both Stanford Group, where he served as Senior Vice President from 2004 to 2007, and Morgan Keegan & Company, where he served as Senior Vice President from 2001 to 2004. Before moving to the sell side in 2001, Mr. Reynolds was an investment banker in the Financial Institutions group at Morgan Keegan for approximately two years. Before joining Morgan Keegan, he spent over two years in the Financial Institutions group of Mercer Capital Management in Memphis, Tenn., providing M&A services to financial institutions, as well as fairness and solvency opinions, and assistance to boards in meeting their corporate finance objectives. Before joining Mercer Capital, Mr. Reynolds spent two years as a Commercial Loan Officer at Union Planters Corporation – now Regions Financial – in Memphis. Mr. Reynolds received both his MBA and BBA degrees in finance from the University of Memphis. He also holds the CFA designation from the CFA Institute.
Mike I. Shafir joined Sterne Agee as a Research Analyst with a focus on Northeast banks and thrifts in April 2006, after working as an Analyst at Moors & Cabot since 2004. Mr. Shafir holds a B.A. in history from Brandeis University and an MBA in finance from Rutgers Business School.
KENT ALLEN, Research Director of Aberdeen Group, provides
analysis and assessment of B2B and B2C Internet commerce and EDI
solutions that support multichannel catalog, product content, and
order management, as well as other marketing and sales processes.
He also covers Internet advertising, e-marketing, and related
digital direct marketing technologies. He worked previously as a
market strategy consultant for San Francisco Bay area Internet
technology companies. He also spent six years as a Senior
Reporter for McGraw-Hill’s Information Services, where he helped
launch McGraw-Hill’s pre-Internet foray into the electronic
distribution of marketing data and architectural and construction
contract information to a global audience. He has published works
on Internet marketing technologies since 1995. He has an MBA from
the University of Washington, where he was awarded the Frankland
Marketing Scholarship, and he holds a BA in History and English
from the University of Virginia.
KENNETH W.P. HOFFMAN is a Senior Metals Analyst and Senior Steel Analyst
at Prudential Securities Inc. Mr. Hoffman currently specializes in both
domestic and international steel companies including the steel
processors. A Chartered Financial Analyst, he earned his M.B.A. from
Duke University and Bachelors degrees in finance and economics from
Syracuse University. Mr. Hoffman is married and enjoys reading about
world and industrial history, playing golf and gardening in his free
time.
KENNETH M. LEON joined Standard & Poor’s U.S. Equity Research Services
in March 2003. He is a Director of Standard & Poor’s Telecommunications
Group. He also follows the wireless services and telecom equipment
industries where he has spent over 20 years covering the broad
telecommunications services and equipment sectors. Prior to joining
Standard & Poor’s, he was a Global Sector Head of Telecommunications and
a Senior Equities Analyst at ABN AMRO for the last six years. Most of
his 20-year research experience was at Bear Stearns and Lehman Brothers.
