Janet M. Brown is President and CEO of FundX Investment Group. Ms. Brown has been part of the mutual fund evolution since 1978, researching and developing effective investment strategies for clients. A frequent guest on national media, Ms. Brown’s expertise is widely recognized. She is a board member of several nonprofits and foundations and a longtime advocate for sustainable responsible investing — SRI.
Karen Hiatt, CFA, is a Senior Portfolio Manager, a Managing Director and CIO Focused Growth Equities with Allianz Global Investors, which she joined in 1998. She manages all focused-growth strategies. Earlier, Ms. Hiatt was a senior research analyst, sector head of the U.S. consumer team and U.S. Director of Research. She has 22 years of investment-industry experience. Ms. Hiatt was previously a vice president and analyst at Bioscience Securities, a boutique investment bank. She has a B.S. in finance, cum laude, from Santa Clara University.
Abe Sheikh is Co-Chief Investment Officer at Cougar Global Investments. He joined Cougar in 2017, after 11 years at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Abe has spent the majority of his career developing frameworks designed to generate optimal strategic and tactical asset allocations for a range of sophisticated institutional and retail clients. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Abe was an actuarial analyst for four years at Watson Wyatt Worldwide. He earned a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a master’s in computational finance from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
Jamie Iselin is Managing Director-Head of Municipal Fixed Income at Neuberger Berman. He formerly worked at Lehman Brothers. He is a graduate of Denison University.
Eric Maxwell is Vice President and Portfolio Manager of Eagle Capital Management, LLC. Earlier, he worked at Rayonier, focusing on compensation, employee relations, benefits and talent management. In 2005, Mr. Maxwell became Global Human Resource Manager for BearingPoint Inc. Mr. Maxwell was credited with reducing the company’s annual operating costs by several million dollars. Prior to joining Eagle Capital Management in 2011, Mr. Maxwell was Director of Compensation and Human Resource Systems for IAP Worldwide Services Inc. While at IAP, his primary responsibilities included working with the compensation committee, developing an informational system for human resources and defining compensation practices to ensure governmental compliance for the company’s 7,000 employees. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in human resource management from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma.
Larry Whistler, CFA, is President and Chief Investment Officer at Nottingham Advisors. Earlier, he was a bond trader for Merrill Lynch Capital Markets. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from The College of William & Mary and an MBA from Emory University. He is the returning President for the CFA Society of Buffalo. Mr. Whistler formerly was on the boards of Gateway-Longview, Inc., the Kaleida Health Foundation, Hauptman-Woodward Institute, United Way of Buffalo & Erie County and the Buffalo Niagara Partnership. He is an adjunct professor at the Canisius College Wehle School of Business.
TJ Schultz is a Managing Director at RBC Capital Markets. Mr. Schultz joined RBC Capital Markets in 2008 and brings over 15 years of equity research and management consulting experience to the master limited partnership team, primarily focused on midstream energy partnerships. He was an Institutional Investor “Best Up and Comer” in 2012 and 2013 and appeared on the Institutional Investor All-America Research Team in 2017. Prior to joining RBC Capital Markets, Mr. Schultz worked for a Texas-based investment bank, focusing on yield-oriented investments across the energy and health care sectors. He also spent five years as a management consultant with Alvarez & Marsal and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Schultz holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a BBA in finance from Southern Methodist University. He is a CFA charterholder.
Jeffrey S. Pavlik is CIO at Pavlik Capital Management LLC. Over the last 27 years, Mr. Pavlik has held financial management positions at both large and small business organizations. His broad experience includes equity and interest rate trading, portfolio and risk management, accounting, finance and the development of sophisticated financial systems and strategies which seek to maximize returns and minimize risk. Prior to founding Pavlik Capital Management LLC, Mr. Pavlik held positions as CFO at Elysian Worldwide, Portfolio Manager/Trader at Peak6 Investments, Specialist/Lead Market Maker for Knight Financial, Senior Trader for Refco Securities, Vice President — Interest Rate Trading at Bank of America and Trader at Swiss Bank/O’Connor & Associates. Mr. Pavlik has been featured by The Wall Street Journal and Reuters HedgeWorld and is frequently quoted by multiple worldwide publications. Mr. Pavlik has also given a keynote address on volatility at the Harvard Club in New York, was selected as a member of the MFA Forum Emerging Manager Star Search, presented at Opal Emerging Manager Summits, was selected as a panelist for HedgeWorld Fund Services Conferences, profiled as a member of the HedgeWorld Emerging Manager Showcase and was a panelist at HedgeWorld West. Mr. Pavlik has an MBA with concentrations in finance and entrepreneurship from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.A. in economics from Northwestern University.
Jason Jackman, CFA, is the President and Chief Investment Officer for Johnson Investment Counsel, Inc. Previously, he was Director of Fixed Income and Institutional Management. Mr. Jackman has been with the firm since 1993. Mr. Jackman is the Investment Committee Chair for the Northern Kentucky University Foundation, and is Finance Chair and board member for Skyward. He is also a member of the Tocqueville Society and Regional Success by Six Leadership Council for the United Way of Greater Cincinnati. Mr. Jackman is also on the board of trustees for the UC Economics Center, the board of governors for The Metropolitan Club and the Endowment Committee for Immanuel United Methodist Church. He is a graduate of Wittenberg University.
Matt Schreiber is President and Chief Investment Strategist of WBI Investments, Inc. Mr. Schreiber is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of WBI’s business operations. As Chief Investment Strategist, Mr. Schreiber’s responsibilities include market and economic analysis, portfolio strategy, and product design and development. Prior to assuming his current duties, Mr. Schreiber served as Vice President of Business Development and adviser to the investment committee from 2007 to 2012. Mr. Schreiber received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a Master of Education degree from the University of South Carolina.
