THOMAS SHRADER joined Harris Nesbitt Gerard in 2001 (then Gerard Klauer
Mattison) as a Research Analyst in the Healthcare Group, focusing on
biotechnology. Previously, he had been a Vice President of Equity
Research in Biotechnology at Tucker Anthony Sutro. His prior experience
includes research analysis at Oscar Gruss & Son and eight years as a
Professor of Biochemistry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He
holds a degree in Biophysics from Johns Hopkins University and earned
his PhD in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University. As
a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow in Biology at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, he conducted research in Molecular Genetics.
THOMAS SEPENZIS joined ThinkEquity in July 2002 as a Senior Research
Analyst focusing on wireless communications. Formerly, Mr. Sepenzis was
a Senior Analyst at CIBC World Markets where he created the wireless
Internet investment practice, published industry reports and maintained
a coverage universe of mobile Internet companies. Prior to this, Mr.
Sepenzis was a wireless equipment and mobile computing Research Analyst
at U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray. He has also held positions with SoundView
Technology Group and Punk, Ziegel & Knoell. Mr. Sepenzis received a BA
in Psychology from New York University in 1992
THOMAS S. SCHREIER is a Director in Credit Suisse First Boston’s Equity
Research Department and the Senior Analyst covering the airline
industry. He was previously associated with Northwest Airlines as vice
president-finance. Mr. Schreier earned his B.A. in Economics and German
from the University of Notre Dame and his M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate
School of Business.
Thomas S. Mitchell, Financial Stock Research Analyst at Miller Tabak + Co., LLC,
started in the industry working as a Research Analyst with NYSE firm Mabon,
Nugent & Co. in 1973, covering consumer and commercial finance companies, credit
card companies, and large multi-industry companies encompassing major insurance
and financial subsidiaries. He also managed a firm account investing in
distressed situations, reorganizations and bankruptcies. In 1983, he joined the
New York investment management firm of Weiss, Peck & Greer as one of five
portfolio analysts, with primary coverage responsibility for the financial stock
sector. As a general partner of WPG from 1984 to 1990, he also initiated
programs for WPG to invest in foreign stocks and to use index futures and
options for bona fide portfolio hedging. In 1990, he branched out to set up an
independent money-management shop. He joined Miller Tabak in July 2006 with
primary coverage responsibility for banks, REITs and other financial stocks. A
respect for credit analysis and for observation of broad industry trends has
informed his investing approach throughout the past 33 years.
Thomas P. Kouchoukos returned to Stifel Nicolaus in August 2008 as a Medical Technology Analyst, focusing primarily on the women’s health, urology, peripheral vascular, neurovascular and biomaterials market sectors. Prior to joining Stifel Nicolaus, Mr. Kouchoukos was a Vice President and Senior Analyst covering the medical technology sector at Northland Securities, Inc. From 2005 to 2007, he was a Senior Medical Technology Analyst with A.G. Edwards & Sons, and from 2003 to 2005 he served as Vice President and Senior Equity Analyst for Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, following companies in the medical technology sector. Mr. Kouchoukos is a CFA charterholder and member of the CFA Institute and the St. Louis Society of Financial Analysts. He received his Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University and his MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.Greg Simpson joined Stifel Nicolaus in July 2003 to cover the medical technology sector. Prior to joining the firm, he spent 15 years at A. G. Edwards as a Vice President and Senior Medical Device Analyst. Mr. Simpson graduated from St. Louis University with degrees in both accounting and finance, and he has an MBA from the University of Missouri. He is a member of the St. Louis Society of Financial Analysts and is a CFA charterholder. Mr. Simpson was ranked first among earnings estimators and second among stock pickers in the health care equipment and supplies industry by the Forbes/StarMine survey in 2007.
THOMAS MONACO is a Senior Vice President at Keefe, Bruyette &
Woods, Inc., responsible for research coverage of New York
regional and Puerto Rico banks and thrifts. Prior to joining KBW
in January 2002, Mr. Monaco covered Asia’s commercial banks for
Morgan Stanley in Tokyo. He has also followed the sector out of
Hong Kong for Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns. Earlier in his
career, Mr. Monaco worked as a Securities Analyst for Salomon
Brothers, covering US mortgage finance companies and New York
City depositories. Mr. Monaco is a 1987 graduate of Fordham
University, where he also earned his MBA in 1996.
THOMAS MCNAMARA is an Executive Director with CIBC World Markets. Prior
to joining the firm, he was associated with Kidder Peabody. Mr. McNamara
is a member of the New York Society of Mining Engineers and serves as
Treasurer of the New York Nonferrous Metals Group. He holds a
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and History from Providence College.
THOMAS M. MEAGHER, a Senior Analyst and Senior Vice President at
Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group, Inc., joined FBR’s diversified
industrials research team in October 2004, where he draws on his
extensive background in defense and information technology (IT) to
bolster the firm’s coverage of the government IT sector. Mr. Meagher
came to FBR from BB&T Capital Markets in Vienna, Virginia, where he was
a Senior Vice President in equity research, covering the federal, state
and local government IT services sector. He had previously served as an
Analyst with Ferris Baker Watts in Baltimore, Maryland, and Ehrenkrantz
King Nussbaum in New York City and Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. Meagher
received his BA in History from UCLA, Los Angeles, California, and his
MBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He did work
toward his MA degree in National Security Studies at Georgetown
University, in Washington, DC; completed the Department of Defense’s
program management course at Defense Systems Management College, in Ft.
Belvoir, Virginia; and completed the foreign military sales course at
the Defense Institute of Security Assistance Management, at Wright
Patterson Air Force Base, in Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Meagher spent three years
on active duty as an Army officer after which he returned to graduate
school. Following the completion of his MBA, he spent eight years in the
defense industry, both on the hardware side of the sector with what is
now United Defense Industries and with services companies that have
since been acquired by Northrop Grumman, L-3 Communications and IBM
Corporation.
THOMAS J. ROMANO is Managing Director and Founder of McConnell,
Budd & Romano, Inc. He is the director of research for MB&R,
publishing reports and maintaining earnings estimates on a select
universe of community banks and savings institutions. He offers
expertise to Advisory clients in areas such as maximizing the
effectiveness of analyst communications and shareholder
relations. Previously he directed US bank ratings coverage for
Thomson BankWatch, (formerly Keefe BankWatch). He received his BA
from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
THOMAS HOPKINS is a Managing Director and Principal at Bear,
Sterns & Co., covering the electronics manufacturing services
industry. He was named runner-up in electronics manufacturing
services in the 2002 Institutional Investor poll. Before joining
Bear Stearns, he spent three years covering
electronics/connectors and other components at Salomon Brothers.
In addition, he spent two years as an investment banking
Financial Analyst at Merrill Lynch, and one year as a Financial
Analyst at Equitable Capital. He earned an MBA in Finance from
Columbia University and a BS in Finance and Business
Administration from Georgetown University.
