FARIBA GHODSIAN is Managing Director and Director of Healthcare Research
at Roth Capital Partners, where she oversees the biotechnology and
medical device equity research team. She has also worked as senior
biotech analyst with other investment banking firms and held positions
of research scientist, director of business development, acting CFO and
board member for biotech and pharmaceutical companies and investment
funds. She has an MBA from UCLA (Beta Gamma Sigma), postdoctoral
fellowship from Harvard Medical School, PhD in Biomedical Engineering
from Oxford University, MS from MIT and BS from Technion, Israel
Institute of Technology, both in Chemical Engineering.
F. THOMAS O’HALLORAN, III is a Senior Vice President with Warburg Dillon
Read LLC. A graduate of Bowdoin College, he earned his J.D. from Boston
College Law School and his M.B.A. from Columbia University Business
School. Mr. O’Halloran is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He is also a
member of the AIMR, the NYSSA, and the Rhode Island and Massachusetts
Bar Associations.
ERICK LUCERA is Senior Vice President and Principal at Independence
Investment in Boston and is responsible for research on all areas of
health care. In addition, he is managing their market neutral healthcare
portfolio. Prior to Independence, he was an Auditor in the Price
Waterhouse Philadelphia office. He is a graduate of The University of
Delaware, Indiana University, Boston College, and Harvard University and
has obtained the CPA, CMA and CFA designations.
ERICK J. LUCERA of CJS Capital Management, LLC, was formerly associated
with Independence Investment Associates and Price Waterhouse. He earned
his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware and
his MBA from Indiana University. Mr. Lucera is a CPA, CMA and a
candidate for the CFA designation.
ERIC WEINSTEIN is a Vice President at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
Previously, he was associated with Salomon Brothers and Lehman Brothers.
Mr. Weinstein received his Bachelor’s degree in economics from The
Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
ERIC VEIEL joined Wachovia in June 2003 and is currently a Senior
Analyst covering the managed care sector. Prior to joining Wachovia, Mr.
Veiel was a Senior Analyst for Deutsche Bank Securities and before that
A.G. Edwards & Sons where he covered managed care, pharmacy benefit
management, specialty distribution, and other healthcare services
companies. Before his career in investment research, he worked for the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services where he specialized in audit
and compliance of Medicare HMO contracts. Mr. Veiel earned a Master of
Business Administration degree from the John M. Olin School of Business
at Washington University where he was named a Charles F. Knight Scholar
as one of the top 10 MBA graduates. Mr. Veiel also earned a Bachelor of
Business Administration degree from James Madison University where he
graduated magna cum laude, with distinction from the Honors Program.
Mr. Veiel has published articles in academic and trade journals
including The Journal of Ambulatory Care Management and The Health Care
Financing Review and been a guest on several television programs
including CNBC and Nightly Business Review. He was named Best on the
Street in 2002 for his stock picking by the Wall Street Journal. In June
2003, Mr. Veiel was named one of Wall Street’s Top Analysts by Bloomberg
Markets Magazine.
ERIC SCHMIDT is a Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst at SG
Cowen Securities. He joined SG Cowen in 1998 and has been covering
biotechnology stocks for eight years. He was a runner-up in
biotechnology in the 2001 and 2002 Institutional Investor survey. He was
previously a Vice President and Research Analyst for UBS Securities.
Before joining UBS, he co-founded Cambridge Biological Consultants, a
scientific consulting and research firm. He holds a BA in Chemistry from
the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in Biochemistry from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
ERIC S. WEINSTEIN is a Vice President, Equity Research at Donaldson,
Lufkin & Jenrette where he follows nearly thirty publicly traded
domestic and international companies in the wireless and satellite
sector. Previously, Mr. Weinstein was associated with Salomon Brothers
and Lehman Brothers. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in economics from
the Wharton School of Business. Mr. Weinstein includes among his
personal interests golf, skiing, cooking and travel
ERIC ROTHDEUTSCH, a Senior Analyst and Senior Vice President with
Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group, Inc., draws upon his years of
experience and education in science, business and intellectual
property law to analyze the semiconductor companies. For more
than 13 years, he held sales positions with companies such as
Synopsys, Cypress Semiconductor and Analog Devices. He earned his
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science from
Pennsylvania State University. He holds his MBA from Drexel
University. He also specialized in intellectual property law at
George Mason, where he received a JD degree. He comes to FBR from
Robertson Stephens, where he was a Managing Director in the
Semiconductor and Computer Hardware Equity Research Group. He
began his financial services career as a Vice President of Global
Securities and Economics with Merrill Lynch.
ERIC N. BERG is Lehman Brothers’ Senior Life Insurance Analyst. Prior to
joining Lehman in the fall of 1999, he spent four years at CIBC
Oppenheimer, where he also was the Life Insurance Analyst and where for
three consecutive years he was a member of the Institutional Investor
All Star team. Prior to working at Oppenheimer, he was the property-
casualty analyst at Bear, Stearns & Co. And prior to working at Bear, he
spent almost 10 years as a writer and editor at The New York Times,
where he covered the insurance industry. A CPA with particular interest
in financial reporting by financial institutions, Mr. Berg earned his
undergraduate degree from The Wharton School and his MBA from Stanford
Business School.
