WILLIAM ELDER founded Genus, Inc., a semiconductor equipment company in
Silicon Valley, in January 1982 and is the Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer. From October 1996 to April 1998, he served only as Chairman of
the Board. From April 1990 to September 1996, he was Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer of the company. From November 1981 to April 1990, he
was President, CEO and a Director of the company. Genus pioneered three
new manufacturing technologies into semiconductor silicon wafer
fabrication to increase the speed and density of advanced silicon chips.
These technologies are tungsten thin films, (MeV) high energy ion
implantation and most recently, atomic layer deposition technology.
Genus became a public company in 1988 and reached $100 million in
revenues in 1995. Profile
SHUM MUKHERJEE joined Genus, Inc., as Executive Vice President of
Finance and Chief Financial Officer in October 2001. Prior to joining
Genus, Mr. Mukherjee held a number of senior positions at E*TRADE Group
including Vice President Finance and CFO for E*TRADE International, and
Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller for E*TRADE Group. From
1984 to 1998, he held several senior financial management positions at
Raychem Corporation, including Group Controller, Assistant Controller
and Assistant Treasurer. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mukherjee worked at
Ford of Europe in the UK and at IBM World Trade Corporation in India.
Mr. Mukherjee earned an MBA from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Profile
