ROBERT R. CARPENTER is the president and Chief Executive Officer of IHS
Group. Before joining IHS Group, Mr. Carpenter served as Chairman and
CEO of System Software Associates, a worldwide leader in enterprise
application systems to major corporations in over 70 countries. Prior to
that, he was the President and CEO of Origin Americas, a subsidiary of
Philips B.V., and was instrumental in growing the company's IT services
and outsourcing revenues by 32%, engineering a profit turnaround. Before
Origin Americas, Bob had worldwide responsibility for NCR's $3 billion
services businesses and was in charge of Marketing and Sales Operations
for AT&T Network Systems (Lucent). He holds a Bachelor's degree from
DePauw University, a Master's degree in Foreign Affairs from the
University of Virginia and an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate
