Robert R. Carpenter

ROBERT R. CARPENTER is the president and Chief Executive Officer of IHS
Group. Before joining IHS Group, Mr. Carpenter served as Chairman and
CEO of System Software Associates, a worldwide leader in enterprise
application systems to major corporations in over 70 countries. Prior to
that, he was the President and CEO of Origin Americas, a subsidiary of
Philips B.V., and was instrumental in growing the company’s IT services
and outsourcing revenues by 32%, engineering a profit turnaround. Before
Origin Americas, Bob had worldwide responsibility for NCR’s $3 billion
services businesses and was in charge of Marketing and Sales Operations
for AT&T Network Systems (Lucent). He holds a Bachelor’s degree from
DePauw University, a Master’s degree in Foreign Affairs from the
University of Virginia and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate
School of Management.
