DR. LOUIS MATIS has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of
Cellular Genomics Inc. since June 2001, after joining the company as
President and Chief Scientific Officer in September 2000. Prior to
joining Cellular Genomics, Dr. Matis was the Senior Vice President and
Chief Scientific Officer at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. Before joining
Alexion Pharmaceuticals in 1993, Dr. Matis held various appointments at
the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration
from 1977 to 1992. From 1990 to 1992, he was Senior Investigator in the
Laboratory of Immunoregulation and the Medicine Branch of the National
Cancer Institute. From 1987 to 1990, he was a Senior Staff Fellow at the
Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, a division of the FDA. Dr.
Matis received his BA, summa cum laude, from Amherst College and his MD
from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, where he was elected
to Alpha Omega Alpha. He received his clinical training at the
University of Chicago Hospitals and the NIH, and has national board
certification in both Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. The author
of more than 120 scientific papers in the fields of immunology, cell and
molecular biology, and clinical medicine, Dr. Matis is a recipient of
the NIH Award of Merit and the Commendable Service Award from the FDA. Profile
