Edward Kornreich – Proskauer Rose Llp

EDWARD KORNREICH is a Partner in Proskauer Rose LLP's Health Care Department and serves in the New York City office. He has practiced health care law for over 20 years. He represents not- for-profit and for-profit hospitals, academic medical centers, physician groups, physician management companies, HMOs, venture capitalists and healthcare entrepreneurs in, among other things, regulatory compliance matters, mergers and acquisitions regarding healthcare entities, managed care contracting, the development of integrated health systems and physician organizations, hospital purchases of physician practices, and joint venture arrangements. His past experience reflects a blend of public and private service and institutional and non-institutional settings. Upon graduating from Harvard Law School, Mr. Kornreich worked for the Legal Aid Society. He then entered private practice, where he helped represent a major public hospital corporation in a series of reimbursement disputes with the state and federal governments, and counseled metropolitan hospitals and nursing homes on reimbursement and operational issues. Thereafter, he served as General Counsel of the St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, one of the largest teaching hospitals in New York. Upon leaving the St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, Mr. Kornreich joined Proskauer as a Partner in 1990. He frequently writes and lectures on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, healthcare integration, and the application of federal and state anti-kickback and 'Stark' laws to healthcare transactions.
