BENJAMIN F. MCGRAW III is the Chairman, President and CEO of Valentis,
Inc. He joined Megabios in September 1994 as CEO, then acquired
GeneMedicine in March 1999 to form Valentis. Prior to this, Dr. McGraw
gained experience in corporate development as Corporate Vice President
for Corporate Development for Allergan, a pharmaceutical company. Before
that, he was an analyst and then fund manager at MedTech Trends and
Carerra Capital Management. He began his career in pharmaceutical R&D,
holding various positions including Vice President, Development for
Marion Laboratories and Marion, Merrell Dow, both pharmaceutical
companies. Dr. McGraw earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of
Pharmacy degrees from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health
Sciences where he also completed a clinical practice residency. Profile
