MORTIMER B. FULLER, III has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
Genesee & Wyoming, Inc. (GWI) since 1977. Based in Greenwich, CT, GWI
is a leading operator of short line and regional freight railroads. In
1977, when Mr. Fuller purchased a controlling interest in the Company
and became its Chief Executive Officer, GWI operated a single 14-mile
railroad that generated $3.9 million in operating revenues. As a result
of the Company’s acquisition and marketing strategies, GWI and its
affiliates have grown to operate over approximately 3,700 miles of track
in four countries on two continents which generate over $150 million in
annual revenues. GWI went public in June, 1996 and is listed on NASDAQ.
He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, a law
degree from the Boston University School of Law and an M.B.A. from
Harvard Business School. Mr. Fuller has served as a director of the
American Short Line Railroad Association and was a founding member of
the Regional Railroads of America, serving on that Association’s
executive committee. He is also a director of Detection Systems, Inc. a
public company based in Rochester, N.Y. and a trustee of the
Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, N.J.
