William C. Samuels

WILLIAM C. SAMUELS joined ACTV, Inc. in 1989 and currently serves as
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, ACTV has
pioneered the convergence of traditional television programming with the
Internet, and created interactive one-to-one digital television. Mr.
Samuels spearheaded ACTV’s growth from an early stage research and
development company in the late 1980s, to its current status as a
recognized leader in TV/Web convergence and interactive digital
television. During his tenure, Mr. Samuels has established one of the
industry’s most respected management teams and has been the driving
force behind ACTV’s patent strategy and powerful portfolio of
proprietary technology. Since joining the company, Mr. Samuels has
pursued a consistent vision that has enabled ACTV to achieve its
leadership role, fortified by strong partnerships and unmatched
experience in creating and delivering compelling interactive content.
Leveraging ACTV’s HyperTV’ and ‘Individualized TV’ technologies, Mr.
Samuels continues to pioneer the development and delivery of high
quality content for digital television and for the convergence of TV
programming with the Internet. Mr. Samuels is committed to bridging the
digital divide, making the benefits of digital television and broadband
technology available to everyone ‘ not only for entertainment, but also
for education. He is a firm believer that ACTV will help establish a new
era in television and the Internet ‘ one in which compelling content
allows the two mediums to have a yet-to-be realized positive impact on
society as a whole. Mr. Samuels received a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law
School and is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT). Very active in Democratic politics, Mr. Samuels is a strong
proponent of corporate responsibility and sits on the Board of Directors
of the Council on Economic Priorities.
