PETER J. QUARTARARO, JR., Executive Vice President, joined the company
in December 1997. He brings to RenalTech International, LLC more than 10
years of broad-based experience in the financial industry. His
responsibilities include strategic planning, development of financial
models, budgets and costing projections, contract negotiations, and
capital raising. Mr. Quartararo manages all aspects of operations and
has primary responsibility for developing and implementing the business
and financial strategy of the company. He has extensive experience in
contract negotiations and works closely with the firm's securities and
corporate attorneys. Mr. Quartararo is responsible for the creation and
development of the company's presentations, publications and exhibits,
and plays a key role in the design and management of the company's
computer technology and information systems. Mr. Quartararo received his
Bachelor's of Business Administration in International Finance,
Economics and Banking from Baruch College at the City University of New
York in 1986 and earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
designation in 1994. He worked in the securities industry for more than
10 years as an Institutional Salesman, Equity and Fixed Income Trader,
Securities Analyst, Convertible Arbitrageur, Registered Options
Principal and Operations Manager. Mr. Quartararo worked for Goldman
Sachs, Tucker Anthony, and Kemper Financial before co-founding a
successful securities brokerage firm in Florida. He has extensive
experience in running entrepreneurial companies. Profile
JAMES A. BRADY, MD is the Medical Research Coordinator for RenalTech
International, LLC. He joined the company in November 1997 and focuses
on the clinical aspects of the company's technology, especially issues
of biocompatibility and cartridge performance. His responsibilities
include the analysis and interpretation of in vitro and in vivo studies
of the BetaSorb_ device. Dr. Brady utilizes his clinical experience to
investigate additional applications of the company's technology, and
establishes and maintains relationships with clinicians and research
collaborators in various medical specialties. Dr. Brady received his MD
from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1992,
graduating with highest honors, and was both a General Surgery Resident
and a Plastic Surgery Resident at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital. He was
elected a member of Alpha Omega Alpha in 1992, and has received numerous
distinctions and awards in the field of medicine. Dr. Brady received his
BA in Biology from Amherst College in 1988. Dr. Brady continues to be a
practicing surgeon in addition to his role with RenalTech. Profile
TWST: We'd like to begin with an update on what's been happening atRenalTech International since we last spoke.
Dr. Brady: The past year has been the most exciting year in the
company's
