DR. YAGYENSH C. (BUNO) PATI is the co-founder, President and CEO of
Numerical Technologies, Inc. Since starting the company in 1995, he has
led it from the initial development phases, through its successful
initial public offering last year, and completed three successful
acquisitions. He has led product development, marketing and sales for
products that span the design-to-silicon spectrum, covering the
semiconductor manufacturing, photomask and IC design markets. Before co-
founding Numerical, Dr. Pati served an Assistant Professor of Electrical
Engineering and Computer Science at Harvard University. Prior to
Harvard, he led a research group at Stanford University that developed
the original technology for Numerical. Dr. Pati received a BS, an MS and
a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland at

Technologies, and then an overview of the things you're doing at the
present time?
Dr. Pati: The company actually started out
