WILLIAM S. REECE is Chairman, President and CEO of HealthGate. Mr. Reece
is responsible for overall corporate strategy and direction. Recognizing
the potential significance of the Internet for health care institutions
and hospitals, Mr. Reece founded HealthGate in 1994 to enable hospitals
to build dynamic e-health communities of consumers and physicians. Under
his leadership, HealthGate has over 700 hospitals utilizing its
products, including HCA, the U.S Department of Defense Military Health
System, and a number of leading academic medical centers. HealthGate has
also developed strong strategic partnerships, such as those with GE
Medical Systems and Blackwell Science Ltd. Previously Mr. Reece served
as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at PaperChase, a medical
literature retrieval software company owned by Beth Israel Hospital in
