William Nettles – Stillwater Mining Company (swc)

WILLIAM E. NETTLES is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Stillwater Mining Company, a position he has held since 1997. Prior to joining Stillwater Mining, Mr. Nettles was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Engelhard Corporation from 1995 to 1997. He was at Engelhard for 15 years in various operating positions, including Vice President and General Manager of the Chemical Catalyst Group from 1992 to 1994 and the Specialty Minerals & Colors Group from 1988 to 1992, and Vice President and Business Director of the Performance Minerals Group from 1982 to 1987. From 1965 to 1982, Mr. Nettles worked for the Dow Chemical Company in positions of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing. Mr. Nettles earned a Master's of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's of Science degree in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
