W. JEFF WADSWORTH was appointed President and CEO of the Nemours
Foundation in 1999 after serving as its General Manager and
Administrator since 1982. Early in his career he served five years as an
Air Force officer with several tours in Vietnam, receiving honors such
as the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters. In 1969 he returned to civilian
life in Jacksonville, where he still resides. He became the
administrator of the medical education program at University Hospital
and, in 1974, the CEO at the Hope Haven Children's Hospital. In 1981,
Nemours purchased Hope Haven, renaming it Nemours Children's Hospital
and in 1986 changed the hospital into Nemours Children's Clinic. He has
held several volunteer leadership roles during his career ranging from
President of the Florida Healthcare Financial Management Association and
President of the Jacksonville Hospital Council to coaching Little League
baseball and volunteering to teach at elementary schools, for which he
received special commendation from the Duval County School Board. Mr.
Wadsworth has served on the Board of the Healthy Kids Corporation, the
Institute for Child Health Policy and the American Medical Group
Association. He currently serves on the Boards of the Malcolm Baldrige
National Quality Foundation and the American Medical Group Association
