W. Don Cornwell – Granite Broadcasting Corporation (gbtvk)

W. DON CORNWELL has been Chief Executive Officer of Granite Broadcasting Corporation since October 1988. Granite, which owns and operates television stations in geographically diverse markets, had net revenues during 1998 of $193 million. Granite was the 1995 Black Enterprise Company of the Year and is number eight on Black Enterprise Magazine's 1998 Industrial/Service 100 List. Mr. Cornwell's career spans 28 years. He previously served as Vice President ' Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. While at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Cornwell was engaged in public and private financing of publicly traded and privately owned companies, with a primary focus on consumer product and media companies. In addition to transaction responsibility, Mr. Cornwell served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Corporate Finance Department from 1980-1988 where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of a staff of over 150 professionals. Currently, Mr. Cornwell is Chairman of the Board of the Telecommunications Development Fund and serves on the Boards of Directors of the Hershey Trust Company, Milton Hershey School, CVS Corporation and Pfizer, Inc.
