Vladimir Makarov – Rubicon Genomics Inc

DR. VLADIMIR MAKAROV is Co-Founder and CSO of Rubicon Genomics, Inc. Dr. Makarov is co-inventor of the core technology of Rubicon Genomics and is currently leading the R&D team at Rubicon. He has held research positions at the Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology at the USSR Academy of Science, and most recently at the Biophysics Research Division at the University of Michigan. Dr. Makarov is a scientist with broad expertise in different fields, including solid state physics and optics, biophysics of DNA and DNA-protein complexes, chromatin structure, and DNA and protein enzymology. His recent contributions to genomics include new DNA sequencing and amplification techniques. He is an inventor on five University of Michigan patent applications and has over 50 scientific publications. Dr. Makarov has a PhD in Physics and Mathematics from Leningrad State University. Profile
