Victor Adamo – Proassurance Corporation (pra)

VICTOR T. ADAMO is the President, Vice Chairman, and Chief Operating Officer of ProAssurance Corporation, the insurance holding company formed by the June 2001 merger of Medical Assurance, Inc., and Professionals Group, Inc., two of the nation's leading specialty property/casualty insurance groups. With gross written premiums of $500 million and assets of $2 billion, ProAssurance is the third largest medical malpractice insurer in America, and through its subsidiary, MEEMIC Holdings, Inc., is the 100th largest personal auto insurer in the country. Prior to the formation of ProAssurance, Mr. Adamo served as the President and CEO of Professionals Group and ProNational Insurance Company as well as Chairman of MEEMIC Insurance Company. Mr. Adamo first joined the predecessor of Professionals Group (PICOM Insurance Company) in 1985 as general counsel and was elected CEO in 1987. From 1975 to 1985, Mr. Adamo was in private legal practice and represented the company in corporate legal matters.
