Tom Elder – Mano River Resources Inc (mno:tsx.v)

TOM ELDER has held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Toronto Venture Exchange and AIM-listed Mano River Resources Inc. since October 1998. A graduate Geologist with an extensive background in mineral exploration and mining gained with major companies including BP Minerals and Rio Tinto, he ran exploration programs in the UK, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Greenland for Cominco Limited, prior to his appointment as worldwide Exploration Manager for BP Minerals in 1983. Subsequently, with Rio Tinto, he had special responsibility for project development in the former Soviet Union. Immediately prior to joining Mano, he was CEO of Carpathian Gold, a private company with interests in precious metal exploration in central Europe. He was appointed as a non-executive Director to the Board of Gold Mines of Sardinia in 2001 and made Deputy Chairman later that year. He joined the Board of AIM-listed Centamin Egypt Limited in May 2002 as non-executive Director. He served as a Member of Council of the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy from 1991 to 1996. Profile
