Thor Bjarne Bore – Stavanger Aftenblad

THOR BJARNE BORE has been the CEO of Stavanger Aftenblad since 1991. He also has been Editor-in-Chief of Stavenger Aftenblad (newspaper) since 1983. Prior to that, Mr. Bore held the following posts: From 1974 to 1983, Editor-in-Chief of Vart Land; From 1970 to 1974, Managing Editor Vart Land, Oslo; From 1966 to 1970, Editor-in-Chief of Romsdals Budstikke, Molde. Mr. Bore attended the University of Oslo where he studied reading, mathematics, astronomy, and history. He has numerous past and present memberships: 1994, Member of the board of Ecumenical News International, Geneva; 1996-1999, member of the Norwegian Government's commission on a new Freedom of Speech -oparagrahh in the Norwegian Constitution; 1983-85, Chairman of the Norwegian Government's commission regarding a new TV-channel in Norway; In Autumn 1997, Norwegian press representative U.N. general assembly. 1993-97, Norwegian member in ENPAs legal Framework Committee (European newspaper association); 199-97, member of the board Norwegian Newspapers Organisation; 1984 -90, member of the board of Norwegian press Association, and from 1991-96 was the chairman; 1978-87, member of the board of IPI Norway (International Press Institute), and from 1988-92, was the chairman; 1981-95, member of the board of Norwegian Editor Association; and 1980-92, member of the Norwegian Press Council.
