THOMAS M. MARRA is President and Chief Operating Officer of Hartford
Life Inc., the nation's fourth largest life insurance group based on
assets and a subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc.
Mr. Marra is also a member of both the Board of Directors and the Office
of the Chairman for The Hartford, Chairman of The Hartford Mutual Funds
Board of Directors, and President of the life insurance subsidiaries
owned by Hartford Life. Through Mr. Marra's leadership, Hartford Life,
Inc., has been the nation's largest seller of retail variable annuities
in the US since 1993 and in Japan since 2002. In addition, Hartford
Life, Inc., is the nation's leading seller of variable universal life
insurance, as well as a leader in group life and disability insurance
and group retirement plans. Hartford Life employs more than 8,000 people
worldwide. Mr. Marra, an employee of Hartford Life, Inc., since 1980,
was named Vice President and Director of the Individual Annuity Division
in 1990. In 1994, he was named Senior Vice President and Director of
Individual Life and Annuities, and in 1996 was named Executive Vice
President. He was promoted to COO of Hartford Life, Inc., in March 2000
and was named President in 2001. An active participant within the life
insurance and financial planning industries, he is a member of the
American Council of Life Insurers' Board of Directors. He is also a
member of the Board of Trustees for St. Bonaventure University and the
Board of Trustees of The Bushnell Performing Arts Center, Hartford,
Connecticut, is chairman of the 2004 United Arts Campaign for The
Greater Hartford Arts Council, and is a member of the 2004 Greater
Hartford United Way Campaign Cabinet. Mr. Marra is a graduate of St.
Bonaventure University, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a
