TERRY R. KNAPP, M.D., F.A.C.S has more than thirty years' experience in
medicine, in both service delivery and device businesses. While in
plastic and reconstructive surgery training at Stanford University, he
developed and patented the enabling technology for Collagen Corporation
(CGEN-NASDAQ), which he co-founded in 1975. Dr. Knapp practiced plastic
and reconstructive surgery in Northern California for seventeen years,
serving both medical and political roles in organized medicine. In 1992,
Dr. Knapp co-founded LipoMatrix, Inc., to provide a rationally designed,
safe breast implant for women, where he built the entire company
infrastructure (manufacturing, research and development, quality
assurance, regulatory affairs , clinical research, finance, information
systems and marketing). In 1995, LipoMatrix achieved distinction as the
first ISO 9001 certified breast implant company in the world with its
initial product, the Trilucent' Implant, becoming the first CE-marked
breast implant and the first new implant to receive full investigative
status (IDE) in both the U.S. and Canada. When LipoMatrix was acquired
in 1995, Dr. Knapp led the product's commercial launch in Europe and
South America. While serving as CEO of LipoMatrix, Dr. Knapp received an
issued patent for the use of passive electronic transponder microchips
for identification of implanted medical devices. He then designed and
implemented the first global registry, tracking, adverse event registry
and post-market surveillance program for medical devices based on this
informatics technology. He is author of two additional patents in

Currently, Dr. Knapp serves as Chairman, CEO and Medical Director of
Conception Technology, Inc., a women's healthcare company in the field
