TAN BOCK SENG joined ST Assembly Test Services Ltd. (STATS) in 1995 as a
Director and assumed his current position as the company's Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer in May 1998. Mr. Tan has over 30 years of
experience in the semiconductor industry working with such notable
multinational giants as Fairchild and Texas Instruments. Prior to
joining STATS, Mr. Tan was President of Chartered Semiconductor for two
years and earlier, Managing Director at National Semiconductor for five
years. Mr. Tan received his BS in Mathematics from the University of
