Steven G. Mihaylo – Inter-tel Inc (intl)

STEVEN G. MIHAYLO, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Inter-Tel, Incorporated. After high school, he spent three years in the U.S. Army. In 1964 he moved to Arizona and worked for Western Electric. After two years, he returned to California where he attended California State University at Fullerton. In 1969, he received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance. Mr. Mihaylo returned to Phoenix and founded Inter-Tel in 1969. Today, Inter-Tel employs in excess of 1200 people with sales approaching $250,000,000 annually. Inter-Tel has 22 direct sales offices and a network of 1000 dealers throughout the U.S. The company also has dealers in the UK and Europe and is in the process of establishing a dealer network in Japan and Asia. Currently, Mr. Mihaylo serves on the board of MicroAge, Inc., a Fortune 500 service company, and Microtest, Inc., a supplier of digital test equipment and connectivity software solutions. Also, he is a former board member of the Arizona Heart Foundation, Junior Achievement of Arizona, the Arizona Museum of Science and Technology, and a current member of the Dean's Council of 100 in the College of Business at Arizona State University, a current member of the Karl Eller School of Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Arizona, a current member of the advisory board of Junior Achievement of Central Arizona, and a current member of the advisory board of Arizona Museum of Science and Technology.
