Steven D. Whiteman – Viasoft Inc (vias)

STEVEN D. WHITEMAN is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Viasoft, Inc. He joined the company in 1990 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and became President in 1993. Whiteman led the company in a successful IPO in March 1995, and has helped grow the company to $106 million in revenue and $16 million in net income for the calander year 1997. Viasoft ranked No. 22 in Forbes' 1997 list of the 200 'Best Small Companies in America.' Also, Viasoft was named Software Company of the Year by the Arizona Software Association in 1996 and again in 1997. Mr. Whiteman ranked No. 31 in Success Magazine's Hottest Entrepreneur's of 1998. Mr. Whiteman has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, sales, and international operations in the software industry. His background includes positions as senior vice president of sales and international operations at Systems Center, a networking and systems utilities software company, and vice president of North American operations at Cincom Systems, a business software company. Mr. Whiteman is active in many business and civic groups, including the American Electronics Association, the Arizona Software Association, the Enterprise Network, the Arizona Business Leadership Association and Arizona State University's Dean Council of 100. He is also on the Fiesta Bowl Committee that hosts the annual Fiesta Bowl football game and serves on the Board of Directors of Actuate Software, NetPro and Unify Corporation.
