STEVE HORNYAK is Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for
Clarus Corporation. Before joining Clarus in 1994, Mr. Hornyak was in
Sales and Consulting for Oracle from June 1992 until December 1994. He
was a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1990 to
1992. Mr. Hornyak rapidly rose through the ranks from Vice President of
Marketing to Vice President of Business Development. In 2000, he was
named Vice President of Sales and Chief Strategy Officer for the
corporation. Now, as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy
Officer, he sets the tone for Clarus' advancement in the competitive
business to business (B2B) procurement software and trading services
sector. Mr. Hornyak is the company's key evangelist or spokesperson. His
animated discourse on the company's direction and key strategies excites
and encourages people within the company to become independent thinkers
and commands the attention of financial communities, industry analysts,
and prospective business partners. One of his many talents is the
ability to create very large partnerships. He was key in the conception
of Clarus eMarket_, winner of Microsoft's Global e-Commerce Solution of
the Year award in 2000. As Clarus' key strategist, Mr. Hornyak has been
involved in every crucial maneuver made in the last six years. He was
one of the original creative thinkers of Clarus' strategic shift to
become a leader in the B2B e-commerce market. He stirs up feelings of

TWST: Could we begin with a brief overview of the history and evolutionof Clarus?
Mr. Hornyak: Clarus is a 10-year-old software company. We actually
started off under a different brand. We
