Stephanie Platt – The Ritz-carlton Hotel Company Llc

STEPHANIE PLATT was promoted to Vice President, Communications for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, LLC, in 2000. In this role, Ms. Platt is responsible for strategic planning and promotions, which enhance The Ritz-Carlton brand worldwide for existing hotels and those in pre-opening and development. As editor-in- chief of the quarterly Ritz-Carlton Magazine, Ms. Platt is responsible for the editorial and design elements of the magazine. This publication is distributed in all Ritz-Carlton guestrooms and to top clients. Other responsibilities include management of on-property Public Relations Directors and public relations agencies at all 36 Ritz-Carlton hotels and resorts around the world as well as media relations. Ms. Platt also developed and spearheaded the company's wedding and millennium initiatives. Ms. Platt oversees all crisis communications for the company. She was part of the leadership team that developed the Phoenix Award-winning crisis response plan for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games and the Golden Bell-winning crisis campaign for the 1997 deflagging of four Ritz-Carlton hotels in Aspen, Houston, New York and Washington. Previously, she was corporate Director of Communications, a position she had held since 1998. Prior to that position, she served as corporate Manager of Public Relations for four years at The Ritz-Carlton. Ms. Platt joined The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in 1989 as a Sales Assistant. Additional public relations experience includes work with the United State Information Agency (USIA) in Brisbane, Australia. Ms. Platt was named one of Travel Agent magazine's '100 Rising Stars in the Travel Industry, 1999.' This designation is reserved for people under 35 years old, in executive positions with managerial experience, who are recognized by their company as someone with the potential to gain ever greater responsibility in the future.
