SIDNEY EMERY JR. – MTS SYSTEMS CORPORATION (MTSC)

SIDNEY W. EMERY JR. has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MTS Systems Corporation since 1998. Prior to joining MTS, Mr. Emery held management positions with Honeywell, Inc. (manufacturer of control systems) from 1985 to 1997 including European area management and senior executive roles in the company's Industrial Controls and Avionics groups. From 1978 to 1985, Mr. Emery was employed in engineering and manufacturing positions at the Bendix Corporation. Mr. Emery is a 1968 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, serving in Vietnam in 1968-1969 and attaining the rank of Lt. Commander in his last assignment as Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Navy. He earned a Master's degree and PhD from Stanford University in Industrial Engineering. He is a member of the Minnesota Business Partnership, serves on the University of St. Thomas School of Engineering Board of Governors and the Advisory Council of Stone Arch Capital, LLP. Profile
