Sandra Van Trease – Rightchoice Managed Care Inc (rit)

SANDRA VAN TREASE is President, COO and CFO of RightCHOICE Managed Care, Inc. She was named President of RightCHOICE dba Alliance Blue Cross Blue Shield (with $800 million in annual revenues) in December 2000. She also serves as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. She joined the Plan in June 1994, as Vice President, Financial Reporting and Analysis, spearheading the company's successful effort to address the financial, analytical, reporting and investor relations needs of the then-new public company. She became CFO on November 22, 1995. Prior to joining Alliance Blue Cross Blue Shield, Ms. Van Trease was Senior Manager with Price Waterhouse. Through her affiliation with Price Waterhouse from 1982 to 1994, she brought the company significant senior financial management experience including an extensive background in Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and compliance, development and communication of financial information for external and internal purposes, development and analyses of budgets, acquisition evaluation, and negotiation of debt and equity financing. Since becoming Chief Operating Officer in September 1997, Ms. Van Trease has been instrumental in improving the company's service and financial performance. In one of the most competitive markets in the country, she has helped the company generate premium revenue growth and improve service levels while lowering core operating overhead. Perhaps most notably, she has achieved these accomplishments while the company has worked through numerous litigation issues and industry-wide challenges.
