RONALD S. SMITH was appointed President, Chief Executive Officer and
member of the Board of Directors of Beyond.com Corporation in June 2000.
Mr. Smith brings more than 34 years of software and hardware industry
expertise and leadership to Beyond.com. Most recently, Mr. Smith was
President of Merisel, North American Distribution. Previously, he was
President of Merisel Canada. Prior to joining Merisel, where he built
strong relationships in distribution and product fulfillment, he was CEO
of Cygnet Storage Systems of San Jose, and NCR Canada, the Canadian
affiliate of NCR Corporation. Additionally, Mr. Smith served in senior
management roles for industry leaders such as Amdahl Corporation and
Bull HN, and Honeywell Information Systems. Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor
of Science degree in Math and Physics from Dalhousie University and a
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from The Technical University
