RON R. HARRIS is President and CEO of Pervasive Software. As a veteran
of the high-technology venture capital world, Mr. Harris possesses a
unique blend of skill and experience in marketing, strategic planning
and product development. Most recently, he was instrumental in the
successful launch of Citrix Systems, Inc. (CTXS: NASDAQ), of Coral
Springs, Florida. Citrix is now a publicly held, high-growth company
backed by the top venture capital firms in the country. It specializes
in application server software designed to extend the reach of Windows
applications across the Internet, wide-area and dial-up connections.
During his tenure at Citrix, Harris rose from Director of Strategic
Planning to Vice President of Marketing, and finally Product Group Vice
President. In that position, he was responsible for all product
marketing, product developing and customer support activities. Harris
also spent more than 12 years at Texas Instruments in the Computer
Systems Division. His responsibilities included software engineering
manager for TTs UNIX product line and the company's executive
representative to UNIX International, Open Software Foundation and Spare
International. Mr. Harris has a B.S. in Computer Science from
Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. with Honors from the University of
