ROLAND K. BULLARD II has been President of FastShip, Inc., since
June 1998. FastShip is developing a revolutionary
intercontinental freight transportation network, initially
between the US and Europe, that will provide time-definite
service comparable to standard air freight at half the cost. He
was a founding partner of Strategic Advisors International, Inc.,
in 1996 while Chairman of the Philadelphia Advisory Board of
Directors of First Union National Bank. From January 1996 to his
retirement in May 1996, he was Area President of the Philadelphia
Region. Prior to the acquisition of First Fidelity Bancorporation
by First Union in January 1996, Mr. Bullard was Senior Executive
Vice President of FFB, a member of the Board of Directors and a
member of the Office of the Chairman. Upon joining First Fidelity
Bancorporation in May 1991, Mr. Bullard was named President of
Fidelity Bank, NA, which was renamed First Fidelity Bank NA,
Pennsylvania, in 1993. He was responsible for market operations
in Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey, and all of FFB's
wholesale commercial activities. Prior to joining First Fidelity
in 1991, Mr. Bullard was Vice Chairman of CoreStates,
Philadelphia National Bank. He joined PNB in 1968 as an
International Banking Officer, rising through a series of
international banking assignments. In 1975, he was named Senior
Vice President and Manager of the International Banking Division.
Between 1982 and 1985, he served in a variety of staff functions
including Chief Credit Policy Officer and Head of Strategic
Planning for Wholesale Banking Systems and Product Development.
He was Vice Chairman of CoreStates from 1985 to 1991. Prior to
joining CoreStates, Mr. Bullard began his career with the Export-
Import Bank of the United States, Washington, DC, from 1966 to
1968. He is a Director and a Co-Chairman of the Philadelphia
Orchestra Association, a Director of St. Christopher's Hospital
for Children, a member of the Board of Directors of the Regional
Performing Arts Center, a member of the Board of Directors of the
Penjerdel Council, Chairman of Urban Genesis and Chairman of
Marine Propulsion Systems, Inc., of Miami. Mr. Bullard holds a BA
in International Affairs from The George Washington University
where he also earned an MBA. He holds an honorary membership,
Beta Gamma Sigma, at The George Washington University. Profile
