Robert Schriesheim – Global Telesystems Inc (gts)

ROBERT A. SCHRIESHEIM joined Global TeleSystems, Inc. as Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Development Officer in February 1999. In September 1999 he was appointed Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Schriesheim has a 10-year track record in maximizing shareholder value through a variety of corporate development and corporate finance initiatives, primarily in the telecommunications and information services industries. Mr. Schriesheim joins GTS from SBC Equity Partners, Inc. (SBCEP) in Chicago, a private equity firm affiliated with Sanwa Bank, where he was President and Founding Chief Executive Officer. Before his work at SBCEP, Mr. Schriesheim was Vice President of Corporate Business Development for Ameritech and Managing Director of Ameritech Development Corporation. At Ameritech, he managed a US$50 million venture capital subsidiary focused on investments in strategically related communications, media and e-commerce companies. Previously, Mr. Schriesheim worked at ACNielsen Corporation, where he held positions as Vice President of Global Corporate Development and Vice President of Acquisitions and New Business Development. He also worked in a number of executive planning, finance and deal-making positions at Brooke Group Ltd., a leveraged buyout firm and holding company, and at Western Union, a Brooke portfolio company. Mr. Schriesheim received an MBA in Finance and Business Economics from the University of Chicago and an AB in Chemistry from Princeton University. Profile
