ROBERT G. MANSFIELD is Chief Executive Officer of Vernalis Group
Plc. He joined the company as Chief Executive Officer in 1992 and
has over 21 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry
including 14 years in a variety of senior management roles at
SmithKline Beecham. He was Managing Director of SmithKline
Beecham's fully integrated pharmaceutical operation in Australia
and also held senior management positions in marketing and
business development in Germany. As Director of New Product
Development in the UK, his responsibilities include regulatory
affairs and pharmaceutical development. Mr. Mansfield is a Fellow
of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a past Chairman of
