ROBERT GANNICOTT – ABER DIAMOND CORPORATION (ABER)

ROBERT A. GANNICOTT is President and Chief Executive Officer of Aber Diamond Corporation Mr. Gannicott received his high school education in England prior to immigrating to Canada in 1967 and settling in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories where he immediately entered the mining industry. He subsequently studied geology at the University of Ottawa, graduating in 1975. Following a career with Cominco Ltd. in a broad variety of Arctic mineral exploration programs, in 1985 he struck out to pursue some independent northern mineral exploration projects. He became involved with Canadian diamond exploration immediately following the initial discovery of diamonds made by Dia Met Minerals in the Lac de Gras area of the Northwest Territories in 1991. He has been both a shareholder and director of Aber Diamond Corporation (formerly 'Aber Resources Ltd.') since its inception as a diamond company in 1992. He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in September 1999. A background with geostatistics has fostered an interest in the analysis of diamonds as a mineral product.
