ROBERT W. BISSELL, CFA assumed responsibility for the
institutional investment business of Wells Fargo's investment
management group in November 1996, prior to the establishment of
Wells Capital Management as a separate subsidiary. He has been an
investment professional with the firm and its parent organization
for more than 30 years. Previously he was Vice President and
Investment Counselor with M.H. Edie Investment Counseling, Los
Angeles. Mr. Bissell holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from
the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. He is a Chartered
Financial Analyst charterholder, a member of the Association for
Investment Management and Research (AIMR), and a member and
former governor of the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts.
He currently serves on the investment advisory board for the
American Bankers Association and the board of directors for
Southern California's Junior Achievement. Mr. Bissell is also a
member of the board of trustees for the Southwest Museum, Los
Angeles' oldest museum that also focuses on Native American

Mr. Bissell: Wells Capital was formed from existing investment
teams/assets officially in 1996 as a wholly owned
