Richard L. Hanley, CFA, is a veteran securities analyst and portfolio manager. Mr. Hanley has worked at Merrill Lynch, Prescott, Ball & Turben; Dillon Read; and the Tiedemann Investment Group. After leaving Dillon Read in 1987, he founded his company to provide independent fundamental research and consulting to portfolio managers. Since 1993, Mr. Hanley has also managed a private investment partnership that is a value-oriented, long/short hedge fund. He has served as an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School on multiple occasions, teaching applied value investing and security analysis. He also edited Philip Carret’s autobiography "A Money Mind at Ninety." He received an A.B. in history from Georgetown in 1968, and then an MBA in finance from Columbia in 1971.
