Pierre Mottet – Iba Sa (ion Beam Applications) (iobat.br)

PIERRE MOTTET is currently Chairman of the Executive Committee of IBA SA (Ion Beam Applications). He left IBM in 1987 to join a recently created IBA in the position of Marketing & Sales Director, raising annual sales rapidly to $15 million and putting into place a worldwide marketing and sales team. In 1990, Mr Mottet took on CEO responsibilities, becoming co-Director with Yves Jongen, President and founder of IBA. With Yves Jongen, Mr Mottet built up the company, successfully leading IBA through joint ventures, corporate partnerships and licensing issues. Specifically, he transformed IBA from a small company selling accelerator equipment to a global supplier of innovative solutions in the area of health and well being, creating a worldwide network of 47 sites on three Continents. He took IBA public in 1998, managing two equity increases and acquiring six different companies, all leaders in complementary technologies, thereby consolidating IBA's world market share in industrial Sterilisation & Ionisation, Advanced Radiotherapy and Radioisotopes. Nominated 1997 Manager of the Year in Belgium, Mr Mottet and Mr Jongen achieved a 15-fold increase in IBA sales figures between 1995 and 2000. He serves as Director on the Board of Belgian Industry. Prior to joining IBA, Mr Mottet was Sales Engineer for the Information Network Services of IBM. Mr Mottet was awarded the IBM Marketing Excellence Award, both in 1985 and 1986.
