PHILIP URSO – TOWERSTREAM

PHILIP URSO is Founder and CEO of TowerStream. Mr. Urso's lengthy track record in developing successful technology/media start-ups has been a key ingredient in TowerStream's success. He has owned, managed, and sold 16 radio stations since 1981. Each of these properties were in either the early stages or distressed entities that succeeded under his leadership. In 1997, Citadel Communications, a national radio group that owns more than 200 stations in the United States, acquired eFortress, an ISP Mr. Urso founded with Jeff Thompson, along with two of his radio holdings. After the acquisition, he continued to manage properties for Citadel and was later promoted to President of eFortress. During his leadership at eFortress, he planned and executed the acquisition strategy for nine ISPs across the United States. Previously, Mr. Urso founded MCF Communications, a regional tower company. He graduated from Portsmouth Abbey and holds a B.A. from Northwestern University's American Studies program Profile
