PHILIP MARCELLA is Chief Executive Officer of RMR Plc, the Web
Development firm he floated in April this year that has pioneered online
conferences. Educated at Arnold Private Boarding School, England, Mr
Marcella left normal education in 1982 to specialise in computer
programming. In 1990, he moved to Malaysia. There, he worked as an
independent computer consultant and began developing databases on the
fledgling World Wide Web. He spent 1995 in California, working as an
Internet consultant. On his return to the UK in 1996, he founded RMR
and met with Dr Mark K Smith, inventor of online conferences and
exhibitions. Born in 1964, Mr Marcella lives with his partner, Marion,
and his son, Luke, in Devon, England. He is a technology enthusiast and
