PETER H. SODERBERG has been President & CEO of Welch Allyn, Inc. since
January, 2000. Before that, he was COO of the Medical Products business.
Prior to joining Welch Allyn in 1993, Mr. Soderberg concluded a 23-year
career with Johnson & Johnson. He joined J&J in 1968 as a Production
Planning Manager for the Domestic Operating Company. He later held
various positions with J&J's Baby Products Company including Director,
Distribution & Planning; Group Product Director; and Director of
Marketing. He spent three years in Australia as an International Service
Executive running consumer products marketing for J&J Australia PTY Ltd.
He then served as President & CEO of Crestek Inc. and as Founder and
President of Princeton Entrepreneurial Resources Inc. During his last
five years with J&J, Mr. Soderberg served as President of J&J's Health
Management unit. Mr. Soderberg serves on the Board of Directors of
AdvaMed (the Advanced Medical Technology Association) and on the
Foundation Board of HIDA (the Health Industries Distributors
Association). He is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of the Syracuse
Symphony Orchestra. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Yale University,
class of 1968, with a BS in Engineering and Applied Science. Profile
