Pat Mccann – Jurys Doyle Hotel Group Plc (jdh.l)

PATRICK McCANN is the Chief Executive of Jurys Doyle Hotel Group Plc. Educated in Colaiste Mhuire, Co Sligo and the Polytechnic of North London he has a H.N.D. in Business Studies and a Diploma in Marketing. He started his career in the hotel business in 1969 with Ryan Hotels Plc as a Trainee Manager and spent 20 years with the Ryan Group in various positions, rising to the post of General Manager. In 1987, he joined Jurys Hotel Group Plc as General Manager of its flagship property, Jurys Ballsbridge Hotel. In 1993, he was appointed Group General Manager. The following year he was appointed to the Main Board of the Company as Operations Director. In 1998, he became Chief Executive Designate, and in 2000 he was appointed Chief Executive. He served as President of the Irish Hotels Federation from 1996 to 1998, and was a Member of the National Tourism Council, advising the Minister for Tourism on tourism matters. Mr McCann is married and has three children. He lives and works in Dublin and his hobbies include walking, reading and gardening.
