OAKLEIGH THORNE has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
eCollege.com since 2000. Prior to joining eCollege, he founded
Blumenstein/Thorne Information Partners, LLC, a private equity and
venture firm focused on the information industry. Prior to his career in
venture capital, Mr. Thorne held the position of Chief Executive Officer
of Commerce Clearing House Inc., a leading provider of tax and business
law information, software and services for the accounting and legal
professional. While at CCH, he led a series of strategic electronic
product and re-engineering initiatives that ultimately moved the company
from a traditional, print-based publisher and service bureau tax return
processor to an innovative provider of electronic information and
software tools. Prior to joining CCH, Mr. Thorne received a Master of
Business Administration degree from Columbia University. Profile
