WILLIAM VAN ARNUM is Asset Allocation Manager for the USAA Growth
Strategy Fund and is responsible for picking the US large cap stocks in
this flexible portfolio. He joined USAA Investment Management Company in
June 2000 as a senior equity analyst following the financial and
consumer segments of the US stock market. He assumed his current duties
in December 2000. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Van Arnum was Director
of Research in the Office of the Treasurer at the University of
California. He also served as an analyst following financial,
entertainment and consumer stocks. Mr. Van Arnum held other positions
with Highmark Capital Management and with Transamerica Investment
Services. Mr. Van Arnum earned a BS degree in Administration from
California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo and a
Master's in Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Financial Planner. Profile
MITCHELL S. BRIVIC is an Associate Portfolio Manager for the USAA Growth
Strategy Fund and is responsible for picking the small cap securities.
He joined USAA Investment Management Company in 1995 and worked as a
senior securities analyst covering small cap stocks. He assumed his
current duties in January 2000. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Brivic
was an equity securities analyst for Longwood Hedge Fund and a financial
analyst for EDS. He also was an engagement accountant for Ringling Bros.
& Barnum & Bailey Circus. Mr. Brivic earned a Bachelor's degree in
Business Administration from Baylor University in Waco, Texas and an MBA
from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a
Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the San Antonio Society of
Financial Analysts and the Association for Investment Management
