MICHEL KACZOREK, PhD, is Chief Executive Officer of Synt:em. He has 24
years' experience in biotechnology, including 20 years in the area of
discovery and production of new recombinant vaccines and including a
post-doc at Harvard Medical School and research responsibilities at the
Institut Pasteur, Paris. Dr. Kaczorek was in charge of R&D at Pasteur
Vaccins. He is one of the co-Founders of 'Protine Performance' SA,
where he was the Scientific Director. He decided to move in another
technological domain by integrating computing in the process for the
discovery of new therapeutic compounds. For this purpose , in 1995 he
created Syn:em, which is now a biopharmaceutical company that is focused
on the discovery and development of novel central nervous system (CNS)
medicines. He has published more than 40 scientific articles in
international journals and is co-holder of nine patents. He is Vice
