MICHEAL SHERLEY-DALE is the Managing Director of City North Group Plc.
He was educated at Ampleforth College and York University, and has been
involved in residential property since 1979, when he set up a private
letting business in North London. He worked as a financial specialist at
UBS, and as a Director of NatWest Markets before committing himself to
property full-time in 1995. He has been Managing Director of City North
since 1988, and expanded the business when the British Government
offered tax incentives for residential letting under the Business
Expansion Scheme. This facilitated the raising of GBP14 million for
private individuals and was invested predominantly in high yielding
assets in Central London. Mr Sherley-Dale expanded the business further
through gearing and was instrumental in floating City North Group on the
main London Stock Exchange in May 1998. Since then City North has
expanded rapidly, achieving a 39% rise in net asset value in the year to

Mr. Sherley-Dale: The background was an unusual one for
